Schedule 6

Large Power – All Three Phase Services and Single Phase 50 KVA Transformer or Larger

  • Monthly Base Charge - $50.00
  • Demand Charge - $12.50 (First 20 Kw each month - NO CHARGE)
  • All kWh each month  @ $0.040 per kWh

Minimum monthly charge is $1.00 per KVA

This minimum shall apply only where proper voltage and phasing is within 1000 feet. If more than 1000 feet, minimum will be based on construction costs, plus 8% per year of the contract for operation and maintenance, divided by the term of contract in months, or the $1.00 per KVA whichever is larger.

Example:

Cost of line – OME Aid to Construction = Cost Balance + (8% x Cost Balance x term [10 years]) รท 120 months

The billing demand shall be the maximum kilowatt load used by the consumer for any fifteen consecutive minutes during the month as indicated by a demand meter.

Electric Heat Rate - Large Commercial Users will receive a 2¢ credit off of Rate Schedule B for all kWh's recorded on a separate heat meter and a $2 kW credit for all kW recorded. The necessary metering equipment wiring and labor is the responsibility of the owner. Credit for single-phase equipment will be deducted from the installation cost. This discount will be available from October 1 to May 1 each year. The rate will be reviewed six months prior to the end of the contract with proposed adjustments sent to the members for review.

Service Agreement

All members requesting a large commercial service will be required to sign a service agreement. The service agreement will be for a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 15 years.

Large Motor Starting

  1. Across the line starters may be used on motors up to and including 40 horsepower.
  2. Motors larger than 40 horsepower shall be started only with reduced voltage starters unless special permission is given by the Cooperative to start the motor with an across the line starter.
  3. All motors shall be wired according to the National Electric Code.
  4. Roughrider Electric will not be responsible for any damage on consumer motors or equipment due to overload, loss of phase, or any electrical disturbance on the line. It is therefore recommended that the consumer provide the necessary equipment for complete motor and equipment protection.

The consumer agrees to maintain a unity power factor as nearly as practicable. If the power factor at the time of his maximum demand is less than 90%, the demand for billing purposes shall be the demand as indicated multiplied by 90% and divided by the measured power factor.

If service is furnished at primary voltage, a discount may apply to both demand and energy charges.

All payments are due upon receipt of the bill. Accounts delinquent over 30 days after billing date will be subject to an interest charge based on the state monthly usury rate.
