Cooperative
Roughrider Electric Cooperative is a distribution electric utility serving customers in Oliver, Mercer, Dunn, Stark, Golden Valley and Billings counties. Headquartered in Hazen, North Dakota. Roughrider Electric serves more than 6,400 members, providing electric service to over 10,000 meters. We own 5,124 miles of distribution and transmission lines across the counties.
As a cooperative, we are owned by the members we serve and are governed by a twelve-member Board of Directors who are elected by the membership.
Roughrider Electric is a member of Basin Electric Power Cooperative, our major power supplier. We also purchase power from Western Area Power Administration. We belong to the nationwide network of cooperatives known as Touchstone Energy Partners.
